Depending on your age or profession you may or may not already be familiar with Blackstrap Molasses. The actual etymology of Molasses is an Americanism dating back to about 1875 and refers to the Greek ‘Mel’ for honey. In the UK it’s just as often referred to as ‘Black Treacle’. Molasses are actually the byproduct from the process of sugar refining.
