Those who fail to exercise regularly are far more likely to be overweight or obese, and excess weight is thought to increase your chances of high blood sugar, certain cancers, and heart disease.

It’s important that you’re able to recognise sedentary behaviour and do something about it before it’s too late. Not exercising enough and being inactive can be disastrous for your health, so ensure that you get at least thirty minutes of exercise each day. This can be in the form of low impact sports such as cycling, swimming, and walking, or playing outside with your kids or dog, or even cleaning the house thoroughly.

Manage Stress

Elevated levels of stress can really take its toll on your heart health, which is why it’s so important to make time to relax after a long day, let your chest untighten, breathe deeply, and get an early night sleep. Focus on avoiding alcohol in order to take the edge off a stressful day as doing so can have further adverse effects on your heart, sleeping routine, and cognitive function.
